Leader of the Opposition in Telangana Assembly K Jana Reddy on Wednesday demanded that the State Government restore security to the Congress leaders of Telangana.
In a letter written to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Jana Reddy said that leaders including G Sukhender Reddy, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, P Balram Naik and 12 others face threat to their lives from the Maoists. He said a few leaders have survived naxal attacks in the past. He said that the threat perspective has now increased in view of political developments. Therefore, he strongly opposed the scaling down of security cover for the Congress leaders and demanded that the same be restored with immediate affect.
Jana Reddy also marked a copy of his letter to Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy.
