New Delhi,Dec 3: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders have intensified their efforts to mobilise support of other political parties on the statehood cause.As part of mobilising support to the agitation launched by the TRS Chief K Chandrasekhara Rao,a five-member delegation led by former MP Vinod Kumar came to national capital to meet the national level leaders.The delegation comprises R Vidyasagar Rao,A Chandulal,C Satyanarayana Reddy and MLA E Ravinder Reddy, would meet leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) that had earlier supported the cause of separate Telangana.
The team met the Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar on Thursday morning and held discussions with him seeking support for the carving of separate state.The team also explained to him about the political situation in Telangana, KCR’s health and Congress’stand on Telangana issue.The delegation said that they would brief the national leaders about the political situation in Telangana and seek their support and mount pressure on the Centre to pass the separate statehood issue bill in the winter session of parliament.“We hope to bring the Telangana issue back on the centrestage during the ongoing Parliament session,” MLA E Ravinder Reddy said.The delegation also sought the BJP’s help in persuading the central leadership of the party and also Leader of the Opposition L K Advani to raise the issue in Parliament.
