Telangana Youth Congress president and MLA Vamshi Chandra Reddy on Tuesday alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been aspiring to become dictator of Telangana.
Speaking to media persons here, Vamshi said that KCR's decision to hold Independence Day celebrations at historic Golconda Fort had nothing to do with the heritage of Telangana. Instead, he alleged that KCR wants to get a feel of being the ruler of Telangana. He said that KCR has been pursuing his ambition to become a dictator ever since he took over as the Chief Minister. Instead of concentrating on running the government efficiently, KCR is more focused on causing defections in other parties to eliminate opposition, he alleged.
Vamsi demanded that KCR should start working like an elected Chief Minister and take immediate steps to resolve the problems being faced by the people. He asked the Chief Minister to fulfill the promise of waiving off agricultural loans. Strongly condemning the lathicharge on farmers at Narsingi of Medak district, he accused the TRS Government of following the footsteps of previous TDP regime which resorted to police firing on farmers to suppress protests. He demanded that a special session of the State Assembly should be convened to discuss the problems of farmers.
When asked about reports of revamp of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, Vamshi said he had no information about such an exercise. However, he informed that the party's membership drive would be soon launched in view of election of AICC President.
