TDP on mission to cover up failures: YSRCP

Describing as sheer nonsense the assertions of TDP chief whip Kalva Srinivasulu that its president Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy went to Delhi to seek cancellation of cases, YSR Congress Party said today he went to Delhi and met the national leaders only to expose the misdeeds of TDP during the recent elections of chairpersons of municipalities and local bodies.

TDP leaders are on a mission to cover up their role in the fraud committed on democracy in the chairperson elections by raising the issue of Jagan Mohan Reddy cases, party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma told reporters here.

Asking TDP leaders to explain how cases would be removed if Jagan Mohan Reddy meets President, PM, Home Minister and other Central leaders, Padma said Kalva Srinivasulu’s assertions would amount to denigration of judiciary.

“TDP leaders are out to convey a message that no one can question their illegalities and atrocities.  This shows they are scared of Jagan Mohan Reddy raising his voice and questioning their Government’s miserable failure in implementing TDP poll promises,” Padma fumed, adding that YSRCP cannot be cowed down by their threats.

Rejecting the allegations of Srinivasulu against YSR, Padma observed that it was during Chandrababu Naidu regime that a number of political murders took place. “It was during TDP rule that YSR’s father Raja Reddy, journalist Pingali Dasaradha Ram, Mallela Babji and IAS officer Raghavendra Rao were killed,” she said and asked: “Why go that far? Didn’t the people know how you killed NTR?”

She said the elimination of political rivals began again with the return of Chandrababu as CM. “After you came to power, 17 of our activists were killed and more than 100 were injured in TDP attacks,” she remarked, asking TDP leaders to work on implementing their poll promises instead of indulging in talking nonsense.
