TDP, Left parties stage walk-out on the issue of welfare hostels
The Opposition parties led by Telugu Desam raised the issue of poor maintenance of Social welfare Hostels by the Government in the state during the question Hour in the Assembly on Thursday. Alleging that there was no proper rely from the Government on this issue, the TTDP, Bharaitya Janata Party and the Left parties staged a walkout while the Praja Rajyam party and the Telangan Rashtra Samithi were content sitting in the house showing resentment.
The TDP members speaking on the maintenance of the hostels voiced their concern over the poor maintenance of the Government hostels. They said theat the inmates are not even provided with the minimum basic facilities in the hostels.
Praja Rajyam Party floor leader, Chiranjeevi that the Government had failed miserably in providing the basic facilities to the hostellers.
The Telanga Rashtra Samithi demanded that the Government should inclrese the mess charges of hostellers in view of the rise in prices of the essential commodities. It is unfortunate that the Government which spends Rs 30 per day on the prisoners in the jail fails to allocate that much amount to the inmates of the Welfare hostels in the state.
