Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesperson Rudraraju Padmaraju on Saturday alleged that cine star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan was being used by the Telugu Desam Party to damage Congress in Seemandhra region.
Speaking to media persons at Indira Bhavan here, Rudraraju alleged that since there no direct benefit in making Pawan Kalyan join the TDP, he was asked to float his own party to damage the Congress. He said TDP MPs including CM Ramesh, Sujana Chowdhary and Nama Nageshwara Rao were behind the entire conspiracy and all events of Pawan Kalyan were being sponsored by them. He alleged that crores of rupees were being spent by the TDP to damage the Congress in Seemandhra region.
Rudraraju also condemned former Union Minister D Purandeswari for criticising the Congress party. He said Purandeswari enjoyed the top positions for the last 10 years and sensing that the Congress might face some trouble due to State bifurcation issue she switched over to the BJP. He accused Purandeswari of trying to give the credit to the BJP of Centre's move giving tax holiday to Seemandhra region for five years.
