Hyderabad,Nov 23: The Opposition and Telugu Desam Legislature Party Leader N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday expressed his displeasure over the election arrangements made for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.Talking to media persons after exercising his franchise at Jubilee Hills polling station,he alleged the State Election Commission did not take the polling arrangements seriously.He demanded the Election Commissioner personally review the poll arrangements made for conducting the GHMC elections.He also questioned the EC for not making proper arrangements for the polling agents,who were sitting outside the polling booths in some booths.
He once again raised objection for using electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the GHMC elections.He also objected for using same table for electronic voting machine and polling agent as it would violate the secrecy of voting.Earlier he enquired about the polling arrangements made for GHMC elections with the officials concerned.He also visited another polling booth in the nearby area to oversee polling arrangements. However, District Election Officer and GHMC Special Officer M T Krishna Babu said that the electronic voting machines were working very well.He said that the commission had taken all measures for smooth and fair conduct of elections.
