Lok Satta ready for agenda-based alliances

The Lok Satta Party is prepared to enter into alliances with parties that share its agenda in municipal, Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

The Executive Committee of the party which met here today, with State party President Katari Srinivasa Rao in the chair, decided to contest as many seats as possible in the municipal elections scheduled for March 30. The Lok Satta will enter into electoral adjustments with parties that agree with aspects of its municipal election manifesto to be released on March 11.

The Executive Committee at length discussed the strategy to be adopted in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. While some argued that the party should go it alone, many felt that the option of agenda-based alliances should be kept open. The party reviewed the political situation in detail. The fast changing scenario and the floating of new parties by Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pavan Kalyan have been analysed. Keeping all these in mind it was felt that there should be a concrete and credible agenda to shape the future of both the States of Telugu speaking people. Any alliance or adjustments have to be based on principles and common agenda, the party leaders felt.
