Former minister JC Diwakar Reddy on Saturday appealed to the people of Seemandhra region to restrain from including in any kind of violence.
Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises here, Diwakar Reddy said that the violence would cause further damage to the people of Seemandhra and they should maintain calm by accepting the reality of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He said that consultations would be held with different groups to suggest a location for the new capital of Seemandhra region.
Diwakar Reddy said that it was unfortunate that the people of Seemandhra would be forced to leave Hyderabad. He blamed lack of unity among Seemandhra leaders for the present conditions.
Announcing that he would participate in the meeting convened by former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday, he claimed that the latter made sincere efforts to keep the State united. However, he said that the Congress party did not take the sentiments of Seemandhra people into consideration before dividing the State. He said that the people would severely punish the Congress party in next elections.
