Somireddy slams union ministers for change in T-stand

TDP leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy on Thursday accused the union ministers from Seemandhra region of changing their stand on united Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons here, Somireddy alleged that the Seemandhra ministers misled the people by raising Jai Samaikhyandhra slogans at the dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and a few hours later, they changed their stand during their meeting with the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana. While one minister demanded Rayala Telangana, another one wanted Visakhapatnam to be made new capital of residual State of Andhra Pradesh. A few others demanded Union Territory status for Hyderabad. He condemned the union ministers for not sticking to the demand of keeping the State united.

Somireddy alleged that the Congress party was not any importance to the views expressed by the State Legislative Assembly although it wanted the MLAs to vote for its Rajya Sabha candidates. He asked the Centre to dissolve the Assembly if it thinks that its view were of no significance. He said that the amendments and proposals made by Seemandhra leaders on the Bill have been thrown in the dustbin by the ruling party.
