Assembly adjourned as deadlock over T - Bill Continues

Despite two adjournments and multiple requests for restoration of normalcy in the House, the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly could not initiate the debate on the State Organisation Bill and was adjourned for the day without transacting any business on Tuesday.

The YSR Congress Party and TDP legislators from Seemandhra region trooped into well soon after the House met at 9 AM on Tuesday. They gave adjournment motions seeking a resolution in the House to keep the State united. However, Speaker Nadendla Manohar rejected the adjournment motion notices and appealed to the members to resumes their seats. Following intense slogan shouting by YSRCP and TDP Seemandhra MLAs in favour of united AP and TRS and BJP in favour of Telangana State, the Speaker adjourned the House after four minutes for half-an-hour.

Similar scenes were witnessed when the House re-assembled at about 11.43 AM. In less than four minutes, it was again adjourned for half-an-hour.

Normalcy could not be restored when the Assembly met again at about 1.30 PM. Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikaramarka, who was on the chair, individually appealed to all floor leaders to make their party members resume their chairs and cooperate in running the House. However, the Seemandhra legislators continued the furore forcing the Deputy Speaker at about 1.34 PM to adjourn the House for the day till Wednesday
