GoM to submit T-report to Union Cabinet on Dec 4

The process of consultations and meetings for formation of Telangana are finally over. The Group of Ministers (GoM) has finalised its report and the same would be submitted to the Union Cabinet no December 4.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that the GoM would conduct its last meeting on December 3 to give final touches to the report. The same would be placed before the Union Cabinet for consideration. He also made it clear that the Union Cabinet would not discuss anything on Telangana during Thursday's meeting.

Shinde also dismissed the possibilities of Rayala Telangana or giving Union Territory status to Hyderabad. He said the Telangana State will have 10 districts with Hyderabad as its capital. He said there were no issues with regard to Hyderabad and Bhadrachalam. However, sources say that the final decision on the status of Hyderabad is yet to be taken and the GoM might leave the decision to the discretion of the Centre.

The Home Minister said that the Telangana Bill would be finalised soon. He said that the Bill would be introduced in the ensuing winter session of the Parliament. He said that steps were being taken to ensure that the Bill is flawless. Even legal experts were consulted for the same. He assured that concerns raised by all would be addressed in the Bill.
