Government Whip A Anil on Wednesday alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was indirectly moving a No Confidence Motion agaisnt Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar to stop Telangana Bill.
Speaking to media persons here, Anil alleged that the Chief Minister, through his close associates, was trying to make the position of the Speaker controversial by moving a No Confidence Motion. He said the move was aimed at preventing a debate and passing of Telangana Bill on the floor of the House. Describing Nadendla Manohar as a loyal Congress member, he said that the Chief Minister should not create new controversies to take out frustration of being ignored by the Congress High Command on the statehood issue.
Anil said that only the President and Parliament had the powers to constitute a new State and therefore, any efforts to stop the Bill in Assembly would be of no use for the Chief Minister.
