Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao said that the people of Telangana would never accept any packages and would settle only for a perfect Telangana State.
Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, the Congress MP condemned Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for proposing a package for Telangana instead of giving statehood in the representation that he made before the Group of Ministers (GoM) in New Delhi on Monday. He said that the Chief Minister was trying to sabotage the process of Telangana formation by trying to divert the attention of the GoM and Centre through his vague proposals.
Questioning the commitment of the Chief Minister towards united Andhra Pradesh, VHR said that Kiran Kumar Reddy should have objected to the division of State when he was directed by the Congress High Command to prepare a roadmap. He alleged that the Chief Minister wants to stop the process by making false claims that division would lead to spurt in incidents of naxal violence, terror attacks and communal incidents. He asked the Chief Minister to clarify whether such incidents did not take place in larger States.
