No compromise on status of Hyderabad: KTR

Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA K Tarakarama Rao on Tuesday categorically stated that his party would make no compromise on the status of Hyderabad after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons here, KTR said that the TRS has already gave a nine-page document to the Group of Ministers (GoM) explaining party's stand on Telangana. In Tuesday's meeting, attended by TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao and Secretary General K Keshav Rao, the GoM has been clearly told that there would be no comprise on the question of delegating any administration to the Centre on Hyderabad after formation of Telangana. Just like 28 others States, the 29th State of Telangana should enjoy and exercise full administrative powers on its capital Hyderabad. Any change in its status or interference will not be accepted, he said.

KTR said that the GoM should categorically condemn all speculations and reports on the status of Hyderabad. However, he said that Hyderabad could serve as the transitory or interim capital for both the States till Andhra makes its own capital. Further, he said that the process of Telangana formation should be expedited and the Bill should be introduced in the forthcoming winter session of the Parliament.

The TRS leader also slammed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for sending a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs against Telangana formation. He said that the report, prepared at the behest of some Seemandhra leaders, was sent to the Centre by the Chief Minister with an aim to stall ongoing process of Telangana formation. Stating that the ministers from Telangana region were not involved or approached in preparation of the report, he asked whether the Chief Minister got any approval from the State Cabinet before sending it to the Centre on behalf of the State Government.

Describing Kiran Kumar Reddy as "Kirkiri Mukhya Mantri" (problematic CM), KTR demanded his immediate dismissal from the post.

Another TRS leader and former MP B Vinod condemned TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for deciding to abstaining from the all-party meeting. He asked the TDP chief and also the YSRCP leaders to attend the meeting and support the formation of Telangana State.
