CPM to purge party from within

Hyderabad,Nov 16: Worried over its deteriorating image after the recent elections,top leaders in the Communist Party of India (Marx) on Monday met here to hamer out a strategy to ‘purge the party'of its ills such as corruption and red-tapism from within.CPM state secretary B V Raghavulu told newsmen that the two-day meet began at Magdhum Bhavan in the day and it would discuss the internal problems in the party,chalk out the future course of action and the political scenario in the country.He said the convention would focus on the `wrong policies’ adopted by the party,which had cost them dearly in the recent Assembly elections in Bengal.

The meet would also review the latest political development,graft,Assembly elections results, its campaign strategies involving price-rise, Indo-ASEAN Summit and other public issues.The party would also review its policies to stem the organisational rot while dealing with issues ranging from factionalism and ideological deviation from its comitment.CPM national secretary Prakash Karat and politburo member Sitaram Yechuri also participated in the event.
