The Congress leaders from Seemandhra region on Saturday expressed confidence that the Centre would reverse its decision on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
The Seemandhra leaders, who met at Club House at Ministers Quarters here, have also decided to convince AK Antony Committee to visit the Seemandhra region to take interact with those participating in the Samaikhyandhra agitation. Suryaprakash Reddy, MPs KVP Ramchandra Rao, Lagadapati Rajgopal, SPY Reddy, Sai Pratap, K Bapi Raju, V Arun Kumar, Anant Venkat Ram Reddy and Bosa Jhansi, Primary Education minister and Seemandhra legislators Forum convener S Sailajanath participated in the meeting. Besides union ministers Kishore Chandra Dev, Panabaka Laxmi and Killi Krupa Rani, either Congress MPs did not attend the meeting.
Talking to reporters later, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao said that the Seemandhra leaders would make another representation with Antony Committee to press for the demand of united Andhra Pradesh. He said while the leaders wanted to maintain the party discipline, but they are also forced to honour the sentiments of the people. Therefore, they are bound to oppose the Congress Working Committee's decision.
