Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy on Monday said that the resignation by Seemandhra leaders for the sake of Samaikhyandhra would not prevent the formation of Telangana State.
Talking to reporters here, Gandra said that the Centre was firm on formation of Telangana and the formalities of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh would be completed soon. He condemned the "Telugu Jaati Atma Gaurav" Yatra of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and asked whether Naidu feels that Telugus living in Telangana had no self-respect. He reminded that the TDP's politburo passed a resolution favouring Telangana formation and the party should honour its own decision.
Gandra said that the TRS and BJP too have lost their agenda after the Congress Working Committee decided in favour of State's bifurcation.
