As many as 16 ministers from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions will resign en-masse from their posts if the Congress-led UPA Government decides to divide Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Investment Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the ministers would fight till the last minute to keep Andhra Pradesh united. He said that a majority of UPA constituents were against the formation of smaller States and therefore, it is less likely that they would support Telangana.
However, Ganta said that in case of division of Andhra Pradesh, all ministers from the Seemandhra region would resign from their posts. He said 16 ministers have already handed over their resignation letters to Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
