Giving a major relief to Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday dismissed a petition that sought CBI probe into his assets.
Stating that the petition does not qualify for hearing, the High Court not only dismissed it, but also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the petitioner, VV Rao, who sought probe under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
It may be mentioned that an earlier petition lodged by social activist VV Rao seeking joint probe by CBI, Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax Department into Jana Reddy's assets was dismissed by the court. However, he again approached the court with a modified petition which was again dismissed.
