Vijayamma to tour Telangana

After the successful conferences in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions to set the tone for local bodies’ elections, YSR Congress Honorary President YS Vijayamma will extensively tour the Telangana region and hold meetings with party leaders and pep up the poll atmosphere.

Other issues discussed in the PAC include the Plenary of the party, Sharmila’s padayatra and the strategy to be adopted in the local bodies’ elections,  party PAC member & spokesperson Bajireddy Govardhan told reporters here on Monday after the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting.

"YS Vijayamma would tour the Telangana region and hold district-wise meetings with the Party and its affiliate organisation leaders and step up the preparations for the ensuing panchayat, MPTC and ZPTC elections,” he said.

According to the tour schedule decided by the PAC, YS Vijayamma would hold meetings at Medak on June 25, Nalgonda (June 26), Mahbubnagar (27), Khammam (28), Ranga Reddy (29), Karimnagar (30), Wanragal (July 1), Adilabad (July 2) and in Nizamabad on July 3, he said.

The Party Plenary will be a one-day affair on July 8 in wake of the busy schedule of local bodies’ elections, the PAC has decided, he said.

The padayatra of Sharmila would be reaching its destination at Ichchapuram by July end and the PAC has kept the option of holding a public meeting, culminating the Maro Praja Prasthanam, open as suggestions have come to organize the meeting at Vizianagaram and Ichchauram as well, he said.

The PAC has also discussed the issue of people from the state being stranded at Uttara Kasi and demanded that the state government should take all necessary steps for their safe return, he said.

On the exit of Boda Janardhan, he said;” he must have left the Party as he has a personal agenda. He was well received and had a good standing in the Party. If Janardhan, who moved from TDP to TRS and YSRCP, decides to move to Congress, it is his choice, but he should not be talking ill of the Party he has left.”
