Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar has asked Parties that have complained to take action against the rebels to file a counter within 14 days.
Of the 18 MLAs, nine each from Congress and TDP, who were served notices by the Speaker, six legislators have given their version. The speaker who sent the explanation to the respective parties has asked them to sent their counter within 14 days. He also sought additional information and witnesses, if any, in the case.
As of now, Dwarampudi, Balinagireddy, Venugopalachri, Harishwar Reddy, Sai Raj, Chinam Ramakotaiah has given their explanation to the speaker in writing.
Congress and TDP have complained to the Speaker to take action action their MLAs for defying the whip during the no confidence motion. The speaker's decision comes close on the heels of Election Commissioner HS Brahma telling that by-elections may not be held if the general elections are one year away.
