Centre too responsible for power crisis: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday blamed the Centre for the on-going power crisis in the State.

Addressing a press conference here, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy alone could not be blamed for the power crisis. He said it was the responsibility of the Centre to provide adequate gas and coal for power generation. However, he alleged that the Centre was encouraging the State to buy power from other States at higher rates.

Ravi Shankar Prasad claimed that there was no power crisis in the BJP-ruled States due to effective administration.

The BJP leader also alleged that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh was incapable of taking decisions on his own. He was Congress President Sonia Gandhi was taking decisions on his behalf and the Prime Minister was being remote controlled by her.

Ravi Shankar Prasad said that people were waiting for 2014 elections to bring back the BJP-led NDA to power. He said that Gujarat model would be adopted for the overall development of the country.
