Hyderabad,Nov 5:Praja Rajyam supremo and matinee idol Chiranjeevi on Thursday called for a meeting of PRP cadres and held deliberations to finalise nominees for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections scheduled for November 23.Earlier on Wednesday,the PRP leader is reported to have given the `go-ahead’ signal to 60 candidates who stood a chance to win in the first phase of the city’s local polls. Of the 60 finalised nominees,40 stand a certain chance of victory,party sources said.However,the remaining 20 candidates should work very hard and have to give a tough fight in order to win the elections,sources guessed.
Meanwhile, the party is likely to release another list of 50 nominees shortly.The party high command issued an advisory to all workers that suggesting that they work for the success of the party. Candidates with winning chances have only been issued tickets, the party sources revealed.The candidates in the first phase elections include nominees for Secunderabad, Serilingam Pally, Nampally, Musheerabad,Amberpet,Kukatpalli,Khairatabad and Sanatnagar constituencies were made public.The Praja Rajya Party’s proposed electoral alliance with Congres Party fell through at the last minute forcing the PRP to go it alone in the hustings.
