The budget session of the State Legislative Assembly will begin from March 11.
The session will begin with Governor ESL Narasimhan's address to the joint session of Assembly and Council in the Old Council Hall at 10.30 am on March 11. The Assembly and Council will discuss Motion of Thanks on Governor's Address from March 12 to 14th.
Finance Minister Anam Narayan Reddy is likely to present the Vote on Account for the financial year 2013-14 on March 15 or 16th. The discussion on Vote on Account is likely to be held from March 26 while the Vote on Account will be passed on March 31. This is for the first time that the State Government will be going for a Vote-On-Account for three months period in the financial year 2013-14 before getting the sanction for full-fledged budget on the lines of the Centre.
After getting approval through Vote On Account, the House will adjourn from April 1 to April 24 so that the budget proposals under 40 different heads are examined by 13 Standing Committees. The session will resume on April 25 and will last till May 15 and the final budget will be passed.
Elaborate arrangements are being made for session and the both the Legislative Council and Assembly buildings are being renovated for the budget session.
