Congress Whip in the Legislative Council Rudraraju Padmaraju on Tuesday claimed that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was exploring means to rejoin the National Democratic Alliance at the Centre.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises, Padmaraju said that Naidu appears to be disappointed with his efforts to revive the Third Front at the national level. Therefore, the TDP chief was now making efforts to return to the NDA-fold. Accepting the invitation to attend the oath taking ceremony of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was a clear indication that Naidu was getting close to the BJP and NDA, he said.
Speaking about the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Padamaraju said that the party had an alliance with the Congress party in 2004 and later also joined the government. In 2009 elections it allied with the TDP and it seems to be searching for new allies in 2014 elections. He asked the TRS to take one political stand and stick to it to avoid confusion among people.
Padmaraju also defended PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana who is being condemned for his remarks on the Delhi rape case. He said media has misquoted or misrepresented his statement on the issue. He demanded that Fast Track courts should be set up to try cases like Delhi rape.
