BJP State president G Kishan Reddy on Thursday claimed that the victory of Narendra Modi in Gujarat polls for the third consecutive term was an indication that the country was heading for a new revolution.
Talking to reporters at the BJP State office at Nampally, Kishan Reddy alleged that Congress party tried several means to defeat Modi. Besides spending crores of rupees, serious allegations were leveled against Modi and Keshubhai Patel and other leaders were used to defeat the BJP. However, all such efforts of the Congress party were rejected by the Gujarat voters.
Kishan Reddy hoped that the BJP would repeat the Gujarat results across the country in 2014 elections. However, he clarified that the party was not projecting Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate although a section of media has been floating such stories. He said that the party was yet to decide on the PM's candidate and Modi's candidature was not even discussed at the party level.
The BJP leader also ridiculed the reactions of Congress leaders stating their party's vote share has increased in Gujarat polls. He said that the Congress leaders were searching for words to save themselves from the humiliating defeat.
