State BJP president G Kishan Reddy on Friday appealed to the religious leaders of Muslim community to free themselves from the clutches of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
Talking to reporters at Assembly's media point after participating in the Estimates Committee, Kishan Reddy alleged that the MIM was misusing the religious leaders for its political gains. Therefore, he said that the Muslim clerics should understand the political motives of MIM and free themselves to work for the betterment of the community.
The BJP leader indirectly thanked MIM for forcing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to allow erection of tarpaulin on Bhagyalakshmi Temple abutting Charminar. He said that the Chief Minister had no courage to allow temple management to erect tarpaulin. However, it was due to the MIM corporator's petition in the High Court that the State Government was forced to implement the orders. Else, he said Kiran Kumar Reddy had no courage to respect the sentiments of Hindus.
Kishan Reddy reiterated that MIM had a hidden agenda behind creating temple controversy. He said Kiran Kumar Reddy was being punished by the MIM for not honouring the sentiments of Hindus. He said that the MIM's decision should open the eyes of Congress party at least now and it must restrain itself from grooming communal parties like the MIM.
