Police begin probe into Yerran Naidu's accident

The State Police on Sunday began probe into the factors that led to the death of former Union Minister and TDP senior leader K Yerran Naidu in a tragic road mishap.

Yerran Naidu met with the accident when the car he, along with four others, was traveling in hit an oil tanker from behind near Ranasthalam in the wee hours of Friday. The TDP leader suffered grievous bleeding injuries and died after being shifted to a hospital. However, there are allegations that the ambulance came very late after the accident and it did not even had an oxygen cylinder.

It is now widely believed that Yerran Naidu's life could have been saved if the ambulance would have had reached on time and if it would have had an oxygen cylinder.

Amid these controversies, the police began its probe into the factors responsible for the accident that consequently led to the TDP leader's death. Meanwhile, Additional Director General of Police Satyanarain visited the spot where Yerran Naidu's car met with the accident. Talking to reporters later, he said that the probe into the accident has already begun. He also informed that 63 new police stations would be set up along the National Highways across the State primarily to prevent accidents.
