Six held in connection with Cong leader murder

Vijayawada,Oct 26: The police on Monday arrested six persons in connection with the alleged murder of Congress leader in Krishna District.According to Superintendent of Police, the Kanchikacharla police arrested six persons, who are moving in a suspicious manner, in connection with the alleged murder of Ginjupalli Veeraiah, a former sarpanch of Navabpet village in Penuganchiprolmandal of Krishna district.It may be recalled that a local Congress leader was murdered allegedly by Telugu Desam supporters, sparking massive protests on Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway on Monday last.

According to police sources, Veeraiah was reportedly murdered by his rivals with lethal weapons on Oct 18 night. The locals who found the body in a temple, informed the police about the incident .Police said that Veeraiah was allegedly involved in the killing of Aaluri Buchaaiah Choudhary, a TDP leader who was murdered in the month of September.Police are also suspecting alleged involvement in the murder of Aaluri Buchaaiah Choudhary. All the accused would be produced before the court in the evening. Details would be known after the interrogation, police said.
