Senior Congress leader and MLC KR Amos has ridiculed the declaration of assets by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises here on Thursday, Amos said that Naidu's declaration of assets was a prelude to his proposed Padayatra. He said Naidu was trying to project himself as a leader with clean image before going to the people. However, he alleged that Naidu has concealed his real assets.
Amos said if the TDP chief was really honest, then he would not have taken stay from the High Court on the investigation of Anti-Corruption Bureau into his assets. He challenged Naidu to re-open the case and withdraw the stay to allow the ACB investigation into his assets. A thorough investigation by an independent agency would reveal the real assets of Chandrababu Naidu, he said.
The Congress leader also slammed Naidu for delaying the letter on the Telangana statehood issue. He said by not honouring his words, Naidu has been putting the people of the region in a dilemma. He also asked the TDP leaders from Telangana region to seek explanation from Naidu for delay in issuing the letter.
