Telangana Nagara Samithi president and Nagarkurnool MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Tuesday took serious note on the comments of Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde that naxalism would grow manifold with the formation of smaller states.
Talking to reporters at media point in the State Secretariat, Nagam Janardhan Reddy termed the remarks of Sushil Kumar Shinde as 'unfortunate' and 'not suitable' to his stature and position. He alleged that the Union Minister made these comments at the behest of business community from the Seemandhra region to protect their interests.
Expressing confidence that the Centre would announce a decision on the Telangana statehood favourably, he said that all stakeholders in the region would extend total support to the 'Telangana March' to be organized on September 30 and make it a grand success. He also warned that the Congress party would be wiped out from the region if it fails to take a clear stand on the issue.
Nagam accused the ministers of showing irresponsible attitude towards preventing dangerous diseases such as dengue, malaria and viral fevers, which are attacking the tribal people in agency areas. He demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy suspend those irresponsible ministers from his cabinet. He urged the government and health officials to take immediate steps and provide better medical care to affected people. He also appealed to government to take steps for maintaining proper sanitation in rural areas.
