Rajya Sabha MP and Congress senior leader Palwai Govardhan on Tuesday claimed that the Centre has completed the study of Telangana demand and would announce its decision soon.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office, Govardhan said that the Centre has completed the studies on water sharing, borders' demarcation and its viability. He claimed that the Centre might announce its decision soon after studying other factors. He also dismissed media reports that Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has hinted at delay on Telangana decision. He said a section of media has twisted Home Minister's statement and he was largely misquoted.
Congress MLCs Yadav Reddy and KR Amos alleged that some contractors of Seemandhra region were trying to dictate politics. However, they said that the Centre has already taken a decision on the statehood issue and would soon make an announcement in this regard.
