BJP threatens to intensify Telangana agitation

BJP state president G Kishan Reddy on Friday reiterated that his party was not ready to accept anything except formation of separate Telangana state.

Talking to media persons at Gun Park after paying tributes to martyrs, who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood, Kishan Reddy said that the party would not accept either financial packages or development councils in place of bifurcation of State. He said the BJP would not accept Hyderabad as joint capital for both Seemandhra and Telangana States even for a few days.

Kishan Reddy, who just returned from New Delhi after holding three-day Telangana Poru Deeksha at Jantar Mantar, criticised the Centre’s contention of having consensus on the statehood demand. He demanded that the ruling Congress party clarify its stand on the bifurcation of State. Stating that the BJP’s three-days Deeksha received good response and success in New Delhi, he said that the party would intensify its agitation on statehood in the next parliament session.

The BJP president claimed that the Poru Deeksha has forced the government to change its approach towards the issue. Everyone has realized that the Telangana State formation would be possible with the BJP only. He said that the party would conduct awareness camps over the issue from village to district level across the Telangana region.
