Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA K Tarakarama Rao on Wednesday demanded the State Government declare power emergency in the State.
Talking to media persons here, Tarakarama Rao said that the power crisis cropped up in the State as Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy lacks fore-vision. He demanded that the Chief Minister mount pressure on the Centre to get additional power sanctioned. He slammed Kiran Kumar Reddy for not convening an all-party meeting and Assembly session to discuss such a pressing issue.
The TRS leader said that while the government was shielding the corrupt ministers, it has been directing the police to arrest MLAs who are staging dharnas on public issues. He demanded that the government impose restrictions on consumption of power in shopping malls, commercial complexes and hoardings till the power situation improves. He also asked the government to honour its promise of supplying seven hours of quality power to farmers at any cost.
