Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Monday said that Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi would not become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to media persons, Lagadapati Rajagopal said that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh would accommodate Chiranjeevi in his ministry during expansion of his Cabinet soon. He said that high command would not recommend Chiranjeevi for the Chief Minister’s post directly as he lacked political experience.
Lagadapati ridiculed Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement that the Centre would announce a decision on Telangana state by September 30. He said that the Centre never focused its attention on the statehood issue. Claiming that the State would remain united, he asked KCR not to make any provocative statements that could disturb law and order situation.
He asked KCR whether he would participate in the elections for Vice-President if the Centre makes its stand clear on the statehood issue. When KCR has feelers from the Centre over the Telangana State, then what is the problem in participating in the VP's polls? He asked.
