Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday wrote a letter to the State Government demanding it to place the Polavaram tenders file before Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar as some Ministers in Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy were seeking scraping of awarding of contract to Soma-CGGC Joint venture.
In the letter addressed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Naidu demanded that the government convene an all-party meeting to clear doubts on the awarding the contract to Soma-CGGC Joint venture immediately. He said it was the responsibility of the government to clear doubts as the responsible Ministers in the Cabinet have raised objection over awarding of contract alleging that the government would lose Rs 800 crores if the bids are approved in their present form.
Naidu appealed to the government to maintain transparency in awarding of contract and to check irregularities. He appealed to the government to protect the interests of farmers in awarding the contract and take necessary steps to contain delay in construction of project.
