The State High Court on Wednesday cancelled the conditional bail granted by the CBI special court to former Karnataka Minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy, who was accused in the Obulapuram Mining Scam case.
The court while cancelling the bail to Gali Janardhan Reddy asked him to file a petition in the lower court.
It may be recalled that Gali Janardhan Reddy, who was arrested at Bellary in the neighbouring Karnataka state on September 5, 2011 over irregularities in Obulapuram mining case, granted conditional bail by First Additional CBI Judge Pattabhirama Rao on May 11.
However, opposing the bail, the CBI asked the court to take into consideration the charge that Reddy had allegedly bribed Judge Pattabhirama Rao of Rs 5 crore to grant him bail.
Taking cognizance the High court immediately suspended Pattabhirama Rao and ordered ACB probe into the entire issue.
