Former Congress minister P Shankar Rao on Friday said that the people would lose confidence on judiciary system if its members are found involved in corruption.
Talking to media persons at Assembly premises, he hailed the High Court decision of suspending the first additional special judge for CBI T Pattabhirama Rao, who granted bail to former minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy, by allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 5 crore. He said that the confidence of people on judiciary could be increased if the court initiates serious action against both, who offered bribe and the recipient. “This incident has brought disrepute to entire judicial system," he said.
Dr Shankar Rao asked as to why Legislative Assembly Secretary S Raja Sadaram did not giving an explanation to him over moving a privilege motion against the State Government for violation of protocol during foundation laying stone ceremony of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project. Stating that the government has violated the elected representatives' rights, he asked him to do justice for him.
