Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday suspended its politburo member and former MP M V Mysoora Reddy from the party on the charges of indiscipline soon after the latter met YSR Congress Party president Jagan Mohan Reddy at his residence in Lotus Pond.
Mysoora Reddy, the former home minister, went to Jagan's residence and had a meeting for one hour before he appeared before the CBI in the corruption cases against him. Mysoora, who contested and lost in 2011 by-elections against Jagan from Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, has been sulking ever since the party did not re-nominate him for Rajya Sabha in March this year.
Earlier, Mysoora Reddy skipped Naidu’s recent visit of Kadapa district for campaigning in the by-elections in three constituencies. His son has already joined YSR Congress and he is also likely to follow the suit.
Interestingly, Mysoora had quit the Congress party and joined the TDP before 2004 elections due to differences with Jagan's father YSR.
Responding to his suspension from the Telugu Desam, Mysoora told reporters that he had already quit the party and hence the suspension held no meaning. The former legislator alleged that the Congress, the TDP and the CBI have colluded to implicate Jagan in false cases. "Unable to fight Jagan politically, they have joined hands to implicate him. I have come out to raise my voice against this injustice," he said.
"I know Jagan since his childhood. He enjoys people's support and I am ready to help YSR Congress party in whatever way I can," he added.
According to sources, Mysoora Reddy is likely to join the YSR Congress party before May 29 in the presence of its party honorary president Y S Vijayamma. According to reports, the YSR Congress party will offer him a key post in the party and he would play a key role in the by-election campaign.
