The cloak and dagger operations of TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram should come out in the open as our stand of the two parties having a secret pact has been vindicated, YSR Congress Party said on Friday.
“We have been telling that TDP is working as a branch office of Congress and Chandrababu Naidu has a secret pact with Delhi Congress. With Home Minister P Chidambaram himself admitting that Naidu met him, the cat should come out of the bag,” YSRC spokesperson Gattu Ramachadra Rao told reporters here.
The special agenda Chandrababu Naidu has with the Centre is a three-pronged. Primarily the Centre should rescue him from all litigations he is facing and in turn he will save the Congress Government in the State and both will join hands in harassing YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his family members, Gattu said.
Any number of denials and refuting the charges will cut no ice at this stage as the Home Minister himself has made the statement in Parliament that the TDP leader has met him. It is better if Chandrababu Naidu gracefully accepts the pact and reveals it.
Affirming that Naidu and P Chidambaram have a long association running into decades, Gattu said, the Home Minister’s son and a close of aide of Naidu, who is also an MP, are business partners which has cemented the relationship.
When there are many seniors in the Party, Naidu always opt to send only three industrialists to the Parliament and this is only to keep the channel with Chidambaram and other biggies in Congress open, he said adding that there were occasions when Naidu made a vanishing act and held one-to-one meetings with the Congress biggies, including Ahmed Patel.
“It was part of the understanding that Naidu does not move the no-confidence motion until PRP merged with Congress only to save the Government. TDP has been fulfilling its agenda through Centre and imposing its will on State leaders in return to its favour,” he said.
There cannot be coincidences in politics. Chandrababu Naidu goes to Delhi on the same day, Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana were summoned by the High Command. Naidu was part of the script prepared by the Delhi durbar. From foisting false cases on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy or on Telangana issue, TDP and Congress are working in tandem, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu also secretly met Karnataka Governor Hans Raj Bharawaj, who is a legal luminary and a former Union Law Minister, and could manage to open a channel with Sonia Gandhi, Gattu said and ridiculed the TDP’s defence that Naidu went to thank HR Bharadwaj for attending a Legal function held 15 years back in the State.
“Naidu is in a do-or-die situation in the 2014 election. He will be isolated after the polls and his political career will run a full circle as he will be left with no option other than joining the Congress, from where he started his career,” he said.
