The Congress Party is gripped with Jagan phobia and the leaders are running helter-skelter to stall his popularity rating with leaders shuttling between the State capital and Delhi which is a vain exercise, YSR Congress party said here on Wednesday.
“Totally ignoring governance and people’s issues, Congress party is desperate to stall the onward march of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the disorder in its own house is sending clear signals that the 100-year old Party is on the way to be extinct,” YSRC spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao told reporters.
When a senior leader like Vaylar Ravi comes to town, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy goes to Delhi to consolidate his position. State Congress president Botsa Satyanarayana is ignored and Vayalar Ravi is closeted with Chiranjeevi, who recently merged his PRP with Congress.
“Congress slipped into an abyss, the moment it disowned YSR and his family members. They tried every trick in the book, from raising objection to unveiling YSR statues to raking up caste and creed equations to filing of cases, but nothing seems to be working and the writing is clear on the wall about its unpopularity.
This panicked the Delhi bosses who woke up and are trying to set things right. The disarray in State Congress is only a symptom while the actual ailment lies in Delhi as leader after leader is trying his hand without any success, Gattu said, adding that the confusion is a reflection of vindictive attitude shown towards YSR family members.
When one section within Congress was encouraged Jagan bashing, some leaders who claimed that YSR is a great leader were silent and never spoke. “This clearly shows that there is lot of confusion in the Party as no categorical stand was taken on it. We have seen in the previous elections that Congress leaders went to polls with YSR photo and not on Sonia Gandhi image.
Even Prime Minister Dr Man Mohan Singh had acknowledged YS Rajasekhar Reddy as the most efficient and popular Chief Minister and when the Congress Party does a turn-around on the issue, people will teach a fitting lesson.
“We have seen the results of the by-elections after the death of YSR. The results will be the same in the ensuing by-elections and the 2014 general elections with Congress and TDP facing a rout,” he said.
