No flood alerts from CWC: CM

Hyderabad, Oct 13: The Chief Minister, K Rosaiah, said that the state government has not received any warning from the Central Water Commission (CWC) in connection with floods in the state.Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister, who was inspecting flood affected areas in Vijayawada, said that there was no man-made error in the flood havoc caused in Krishna and Tungabhadra river basins.

The casualty rate has come down in the state as the officials responded positively to the floods and taken preventive measures on war-footing, he lauded the officials.On a PIL filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday stating that the state officials were not alert in responding to serious note of warnings issued by CWC about the likely inflows of flood waters to Srisailam dam during the recent floods, the Chief Minister said that the irrigation department had sent a detailed report on the floods to the Centre, detailing hourly inflows and out
