Rajiv Yuvakiranalu is a bogus scheme: Naidu

Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday described the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu programme of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy Government as `bogus scheme’ to cheat the unemployed youth.

Addressing the party leaders and senior cadre at NTR Trust Bhavan, Naidu said the RYK program has already drawn criticism not only from Opposition parties but also from the State Cabinet Ministers, MLAs and the Congress high command.

“How can the government provide employment to 15 lakh unemployed under the RYK scheme at a time when it is not taking any decision on regularizing the services of contract and outsourcing employees,” he asked.

Naidu charged that the YSR Government had launched the Jalayagnam program not for the benefit of the farmers but to make `bribe money’ in huge quantities and to benefit the contractors. He criticized the government for non-completion of even one irrigation project launched under the Jalayagnum so far.

The TDP chief alleged that the Congress party announced 4.5 percent reservation for Muslims within BCs with an eye on upcoming assembly elections in five states.

Demanding government to make public the ACB report on liquor scam, he slammed the alleged nexus of ministers with the liquor syndicate members in the state.

He said that the TDP Rythu Porubata for the cause of farmers would be taken up in all the remaining three districts of - Krishna, East and West Godavari soon. “Farmers are scared to start farm operations due to shortage of rains and no water in the irrigation projects. All crops are likely to be withered in the coming years due to shortage of water and power crisis,” he said.

He said that the TDP would continue its fight for farmers cause and take up agitation to national level with like-minded parties.

Slamming the government for not taking relief measures in the drought affected mandals, Naidu said the farmers were forced to declare `crop holidays’ due to lack of government support to the farm produce.

Naidu said that the power crisis was very severe and mind boggling in the state and the farmers and common man were upset with the huge power shortage.
