Budget may not burden common man, says Anam

Welfare schemes and development works are likely to get a lion’s share in the ensuing state budget while it may, in all likelihood, be people-friendly.

“The 2012-13 budget will focus mainly on welfare of common man and would not put much burden on him,” Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy said on Tuesday.

“For the first time in the country Finance Department has sought all department programmes `online’ for allotting budgetary funds and to maintain transparency and to prevent funds misuse,”  he told reporters here.

We have given approval in principle for recruitment of posts lying vacant in RTC, he said adding that the posts would be filled up by March-end.

Stating that Rs 200 crore has been released for RTC development in 2010-11, he said his ministry has released Rs 150 crore and remaining amount would be released before the end of financial year.
