Nalgonda Congress MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy on Tuesday took serious note on Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar rejecting the resignations of Telangana MPs.
Talking to media persons, Gutta Sukhender Reddy said that the MPs were pained over the Speaker's decision. The MPs would decide their future plan after convening a meeting before the start of Parliament session, he said. However, he said that the MPs have already decided to stall the proceedings of the Parliament in the event of Centre fails to make any announcement on creation of Telangana state.
Gutta claimed that the MPs were ready to submit resignation afresh to the Speaker for the cause of separate Telangana state. Even if the Speaker suspends the Telangana MPs from the Parliament, the MPs would continue their agitation for statehood, he stated.
The Nalgonda MP said that the Congress MPs will try to project the Telangana state issue as a national problem to bring the attention of Centre.
MP Balram Naik said that the Congress MPs have not received any communication from the Speaker Meira Kumar over the rejection of their resignations. He said he would meet Speaker Meira Kumar on November 22 seeking clarification over the rejection of MPs' resignations.
Telangana Congress Steering Committee Chairman K Keshava Rao on Tuesday expressed doubts whether the Speaker has kept her decision pending on resignation of MP Komatireddy Rajagopal. Hailing the Speaker's decision, he said the MPs would abide by it.
