Widow of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and Pulivendula MLA YS Vijaya Lakshmi on Monday filed a Public Interest Litigation in the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking high level probe into the assets of Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu.
Submitting the 2424-page petition in the court on behalf of Vijayamma, advocate Kasa Jaganmohan Reddy argued that the value of properties disclosed by Chandrababu Naidu were incorrect. In her PIL, Vijayamma disclosed the list of the properties held by Naidu across the country and abroad on benami names. She appealed to the court to order a full-fledged probe into his properties to bring out the truth.
Vijayamma requested the court to order Central bureau of Investigation probe to ascertain how Naidu earned properties worth thousands of crores during his regime. She alleged that the former chief minister had resorted to irregularities and misused official position in connection with 18 issues causing huge loss to State's exchequer. She also listed out the properties held in the names of Chandrababu’s wife Bhuvaneswari, son Nara Lokesh and mother. She alleged that Naidu owned a hotel in Singapore.
In her petition, the Pulivendula MLA alleged that industrialist Sujana Chaudary and CM Ramesh are 'benamis' of Chandrababu Naidu through whom foreign funds were transferred into his Indian bank accounts.
Stating that Naidu started his life as owner of two acres, Vijayamma asked the court to probe how he earned properties worth thousands of crores of rupees within a short span of nine years. She made both the State and Centre as respondents apart from media baron Ramoji Rao.
She requested that the a probe be ordered under Prevention of Corruption Act, FEMA, Money Laundering Act, Land Encroachment Act and Benami Act.
