The Bharatiya Janata Party is aiming to encash upon the Telangana sentiments through BJP national leader LK Advani's Jana Chaitanya Yatra which will enter the Telangana region on October 18.
Former BJP MLA Dr K Laxman on Saturday told reporters that Advani will speak about separate Telangana and the corruption prevailing in the State during his three-day long Yatra. Advani's Yatra which started in Bihar on October 11 will enter Andhra Pradesh on October 18 at AP-Maharashtra border in Adilabad district.
Advani's Yatra will then move towards Nizamabad covering Ichoda, Nirmal, Balkonda and Armoor routes. Advani will address a public meeting in Nizamabad on October 18.
The next day, the Yatra will start from Nizamabad and move towards Hyderabad covering Kamareddy, Sircilla, Siddipet, Pranjnapur and Shamirpet. Advani will address a public meeting in Hyderabad on October 19.
Dr Laxman said that all arrangements have been made for the Yatra and for public meetings at both Nizamabad and Hyderabad. He reiterated that only BJP could give separate Telangana if voted to power in the next general elections. He said Advani's Yatra would also prove to be a death knell for rampant corruption prevailing in the State.
According to BJP sources, several Telangana leaders are likely to participate in Advani's Yatra and public meeting in view of party's support to the separate statehood demand.
