Azad rules out Prez Rule in AP

In-charge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday ruled out the possibility of imposition of President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh in the wake of volatile situation prevailing in the State.

Talking to media persons after emerging out of mini-Core Committee meeting, Azad said that there was no possibility of imposing President’s rule in the state. He denied the rumours that appeared in a section of media that the Centre has summoned Governor ESL Narasimhan to discuss the likely President’s Rule in the state.

Azad also denied reports that the High Command would announce its decision on Telangana in the next two-three days. He said that the consultations process was on to find an amicable solution over the statehood issue.

Azad said that he had consultations with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and other leaders from the State as part of efforts to find a solution to the issue. He said that the Congress High Command was making all efforts to an early solution.
