Lagadapati asks parties to clear 'T' stand

Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Monday asked all that the parties to make their stand clear on Telangana issue.

Talking to media persons, the MP said that the Congress party was already holding internal discussions to resolve the Telangana issue. However, he said more than the Centre, the political parties need to hold consultations to bring consensus on the issue.

Stating that the Congress party never promised to give Telangana, he said that the controversial statehood issue assumed national importance due to general strike, which entered 14th day crippling the State Administration, particularly in Telangana region.

Stating that general strike paralysed transport sector badly, he asked the employees to withdraw the agitation as it has been causing lot of inconvenience to people. He alleged that the employees were being forced to participate in the strike; he said a majority of employees were ready to resume duties.
